SHOW OF THE WEEK 11/14

This week's show of the week features a hardcore punk band, Cankro, hailing from Sao Paulo, Brazil. As far as the sound is concerned, it's nothing too out of the ordinary from your standard D-beat, fast-paced hardcore punk, but coming all the way from Brazil to Fort Worth, Texas to play with two of the better punk rock acts in the scene is quite an accomplishment in itself.

The show will take place at the Fairmount Community Library, which is also home to Dreamy Life Records. The show comes as rumors spread about the type of shows the venue is willing to co-sign. The Dreamy Life label/record store just hosted two other large shows, with High Art and Mind Spiders playing in July and August, respectively, but it's not 100% clear if this show was ran by the Dreamy Life crew for their approval. As the fate of 1919 Hemphill looks more and more gloomy everyday, the building is definitely going to be a target for more underground shows in Fort Worth, and both the label and the library will have to consider it’s role in that void. Regardless, the show still has to be over by a certain time, 10:30PM, for shows to continue to exist without any trouble. Show should start sometime around 7PM. $6
