Lorelei K is having quite a stellar end to the year. Ever since her latest release, Be The Doll, was released in October, she's been interviewed by D Magazine, and holds six nominations in the Dentonite Music Awards, two of which are for Song of the Year and Best Full-Length album. She's played more shows than we can recall, and has two more including this one, this week. And, if we're going by the D Magazine interview, we should expect another album from her again soon, in 2018. With a reputation like that behind her, the music must be something that warrants such a buzz. What do we here at Bad Grammar think? We're excited to release an album review for Be The Doll coming out later this week. Check back again to find out how we think the album fares.

Mothface, named Sandra Dávalos, is a name we've missed the past couple of years. We first heard of her minimalist electronic music back in 2015, and just as fast as she came, she disappeared, other than a somewhat random appearance as a visual artist at Rock Lottery a few months back. We're hoping that she used her time off wisely, but there's never really any telling what she's planning, as her shroud of mystery seems to precede her everywhere she goes.

New Science Projects also wraps up the year with a couple of Dentonite Music Awards nominations as well, with Best Punk Act and Best EP. Going with what we know about the group, we're guessing if you asked how they felt about it, they would probably scoff and tell you how their friends deserve it more, or maybe how the Dentonite sucks. That may be true, but after a decade of making unsuspecting Denton showgoers feel awkward and uncomfortable, isn't it suiting that they get something that makes them feel a little uneasy? We kid, NSP. Who knows, maybe they do want the win. 100 Watt Horse and Sawtooth visit from Olympia.

Cereboso is the solo electronic act from now legendary Denton resident, and owner/engineer at Civil Audio, Michael Briggs. What can we say about Briggs that isn't already common knowledge? Not too much. We're curious how Briggs' rather eclectic music taste will translate through his live performance, being as how that seems to be his only downfall. Michael also wraps up the year with DMA nominations. Three, in fact, for Sound Engineer, Recording Studio, and Best Radio Show (Mostly Local on KUZU).

It's come to our understanding that 1919 is slowly but surely running out of funds that were raised from its fundraiser about a year ago. They've been using that money to pay the rent to keep the building, while plans to make the venue come up to city code struggle to get approved. According to the 1919 Facebook page, things seems really be on the right track now, and that's great news! The venue is hoping to buy itself just enough time to make it 'til the doors open back up again, and that's where this show comes in. Expect to see more fundraisers for 1919 spring up, as the community in Fort Worth doesn't seem interested at all in losing the space.

Saturday

Once again, Rick Eye has us in the dark about another show, this time at "Fantasyland." We aren't sure exactly what to say about this show, but expect plenty of obnoxious noise and experimental music.
